Hi, and thank you for visiting www.Shopping4Sale.com. My name is Jessica van Garderen and I am very happy to be working on such a wonderful and fulfilling project. The idea for this website came to me after attending my first parent association meeting for my oldest son's school. The primary focus was on fundraising and it seemed to me that it was going to take a lot of effort on our parts for very little profit for the school. The consensus at the meeting was, "Can we just each give the school $20 and forget about the fundraiser?" As I left that meeting I thought, there has to be a better way.

I put my background in website develompment and internet marketing to good use and came up with the concept for Shopping 4 Schools. I tested the concept on Kyler's School and it worked! Parents started using the links to make their online purchases and within a couple months the school started receiving money. It wasn't much at first, but every little bit helps, and it didn't take long before more parents, teachers and even Grandparents caught on.

Soon, one of the other parents contacted me. She had an older daughter at a different school. She told me she was on the fundraising committee and was interested in setting up a similar program at that school. It made sense, what school wouldn't want to have an easy way to earn a little extra money.

I decided every school should have access to this fundraiser. My hope is that soon kids won't have to go door to door selling stuff that is unwanted and overpriced. I'm looking forward to the day when this and similar outdated, labor intensive, non cost effective fundraisers are a thing of the past.
